Our man Christian Borstlap made this super creative promo for Shawn Lees World of Funk album…(you might remember Christian made the equally awesome Verbal Headlock video for Clutchy Hopkins)

And Shawn just sent this from SXSW … “Excited! Haven’t been here since ‘94 or ‘95?! Elevate, a film I composed the soundtrack for, just made it’s premiere here. It screened to nearly 600 people and got a standing ovation! I got a nice little cheer when my music credit rolled on screen at the end. Sweet…Saw Adrian Quesda debut his Echocentrics project tonight at the Beauty Bar. Was totally dope! They ended the set with a rousing Selda cover which was dance floor gold. Great guy and great music. I guest tomorrow night with Adrian Younge and his Soul Orchestra at the Wax Poetics showcase. I will be playing with Michael Leonhart and meeting one of my heroes Dennis Coffey! AM flies in tomorrow and we start our run of shows on the 17th. Looking forward to it….SL”
